Webex Industry Day DHS Science & Technology Directorate (S&T) Silicon Valley Innovation Program (SVIP)

The DHS Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) Silicon Valley Innovation Program (SVIP) is keeping pace with the innovation community to tackle the hardest problems faced by DHS and the Homeland Security Enterprise. SVIP expands DHS S&T’s reach to find new technologies that strengthen national security with the goal of reshaping how government, entrepreneurs, and industry work together to find cutting-edge solutions. Based in California’s Silicon Valley, the program reaches out to innovation communities across the nation and around the world to harness the commercial R&D

ecosystem for technologies with government applications and to co-invest in and accelerate technology transition-to-market.

Program Summary

•Open to U.S. and internationally based companies

•Up to $800K over 24 months

•Up to four phases of funding ($50 - $200K) each lasting between three and six months

Phase 1

$50-$200K 3-6 months Proof-of-Concept Demo

Phase 2

$50-$200K 3-6 months Demo Pilot-ready Prototype

Phase 3

$50-$200K 3-6 months Pilot-test Prototype in Operation

Phase 4

$50-$200K 3-6 months Test in Various Operational Scenarios

 

The DHS Science & Technology Directorate (S&T) Silicon Valley Innovation Program (SVIP) will stream its Industry Day on December 11 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. (PT) on Twitter or Periscope. Join us to hear about our new funding opportunity for startups and small businesses:

Also for the first time, we will be taking questions from digital attendees. Use the hashtag #AskSciTechSVIP on Twitter to submit questions to the panelists and speakers.

The Industry Day speakers will present on a variety of topics, including current operational needs, SVIP and its portfolio, and the technical aspects of the call. A panel of representatives from the Transportation Security Administration, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, and Customs and Border Protection will discuss the operational use-cases of the current call.  This event will provide the opportunity to ask questions and interact with DHS.
