About. North Carolina businesses are a key partner in providing military goods and services to the Department of Defense (DOD). For example, in 2019, DOD awarded about $530 billion in contracts to North Carolina (source: www.usaspending.gov). Cybersecurity and supply chain management are increasingly important to maintain our Nation’s security and DOD is in the process of implementing new procedures to properly secure the Defense Industrial Base.

Now is the time to prepare for DOD’s cybersecurity assessment model and certification program that will soon be required for companies that want to do business with DOD. While this will become mandatory for defense companies, many components of this new program, called the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), will offer some basic approaches that most businesses should take to protect themselves.

Registration. This is a free event, pre-registration is required in order to receive the Zoom for Government log-in credentials.
