Description

Airfield Foreign Object Damage (FOD) Mitigation

The Department of Defense (DoD) is seeking a sensor or suite of sensors and artificial intelligence/machine learning algorithms (AI/ML) that can detect, locate, and classify potentially hazardous objects or conditions on surfaces based on sensor-generated data. Detecting degradation and changes to surfaces in areas such as airfields, logistics facilities, and combat outposts, as well as the presence and source of foreign objects, can provide critical information to mitigate risks and otherwise inform operational decisions.

Proposed solutions shall comply with use on an airfield as described by the evaluation use case detailed in the full solicitation on our website. Note that proposed solutions should also demonstrate a versatility for integrated use in future technological applications and/or infrastructure.
