Due Date: Register before 17 March Description: On behalf of the Navy SBIR/STTR Transition Program, you are invited to participate in Navy Forum for SBIR/STTR Focused Technology Event at NAVAIR (NAVAIR FST Days) planned for 17-18 March. The scheduled keynote speaker will be RDML Scott Dillon, Commander, Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, Chief Technology Officer Naval Air Systems Command along with guest speakers Jimmy Smith, Director of Navy OSBP and Shelby Butler, Director, NAVAIR Office of Small Business Programs. We will also have a NAVAIR SBIR Transition panel discussing necessary steps for small businesses to take to help improve their ability to transition their technology.

Description: The Department of Defense’s Silicon Valley outpost continues to award cash to companies looking to break into the defense market, growing its number of prototype contracts and transitioned technologies in 2020, according to its annual report. In 2020 the Defense Innovation Unit transitioned 11 programs into full production, meaning it turned a prototype deal into a follow-on contract awarded by a military department or agency.
