The Offices of United States Senator Richard Burr and the United States Senator Thom Tillis, the North Carolina Military Business Center, and the North Carolina Department of Transportation are pleased to announce the Southeastern Opportunities in Aerospace Regional Summit (SOARS) on December 7-9, 2021 virtually.  Due to the COVID pandemic and to increase accessibility to businesses across the state, the 2021 SOARS will be held on a virtual platform.

ABOUT. The 2021 Southeastern Opportunities in Aerospace Regional Summit (SOARS) is a business development and teaming virtual event focused on highlighting aerospace challenges and demands, presenting opportunities, and showcasing regional capabilities to solve the challenges and needs. The SOARS goal is to facilitate the connections that will optimize the success of aerospace programs, businesses, and organizations. The intent is to develop and grow strong relationships among military, industry, government, commercial, public-private partnerships, and other aerospace-related organizations to fuel dynamic aerospace industry growth in the southeast region.

SOARS will be conducted virtually with a keynote and two sessions each day. Each day will have a focus: Day 1 is Economic and Workforce Development; Day 2 is Business Development; Day 3 is Technology. SOARS will be an excellent forum to showcase companies within the southeast region engaged in manufacturing, logistics, research and development, and other aerospace-related activities and connect suppliers and service providers with national aerospace primes, first-tier subs, and military and military, civilian aerospace customers.

About NCMBC. The North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC) is a business development and technology transition organization, headquartered at and supported by Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) and serving at community colleges statewide. The mission of the NCMBC is to leverage military and other federal business opportunities to expand the economy, grow jobs, and improve the quality of life in North Carolina. The NCMBC’s primary goal is to increase federal revenues for businesses in North Carolina. The Department of Defense has an annual impact of $66 billion and is the second-largest sector of North Carolina’s economy (12% GDP).
