Subject: Dry Combat Submersible (DCS) Transporter Virtual Assessment Event
Due Date: Submit NLT 10 July 11:59 PM EST
Government Organization: SOFWERX in concert with USSOCOM PEO-Maritime (PEO-M)
Description:
SOFWERX, in concert with USSOCOM PEO-Maritime (PEO-M), will host a series of events to identify solutions to Dry Combat Submersible (DCS) Transportation.
As an outcome of the DCS Transporter Collaboration Event, USSOCOM and Warfighters have defined needs for a design-for-purpose transporter that meets the transportability requirements for all realistic operational scenarios.
Selected individuals will be allotted a one-on-one virtual session with USSOCOM to pitch, demonstrate, and/or discuss their solutions.
Background
Dry Combat Submersible (DCS) is required to be transportable over land, air, and sea. The original DCS design supported transportation within a 40-foot High Cube Military Van (MILVAN), on a Low Boy (low bed), or standard flatbed-type trailer. Several fact-of-life changes, including an increase in size and weight of the vehicle, along with associated airport offloading options have driven the need for a design-for-purpose transporter to meet the transportability requirements for all realistic operational scenarios.
Why You Should Participate
USSOCOM seeks to enter into non-FAR or FAR based agreements with Industry, Academia, and National Lab partners whose solutions are favorably evaluated by USSOCOM S&T subject matter experts. As such, the follow-on Assessment Event is considered competitive in the same manner as a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) or Commercial Solutions Opening (CSO), and solutions will be evaluated independently of one another primarily for technical merit. This serves dually as notification of the intent to research the feasibility of an agreement under 10 U. S. Code, Section 2371b and/or Section 2371b(f), and as notice of pre-solicitation activities IAW FAR 5.204.
