This Special Announcement is being issued for the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) in reference to the USACE Innovation Summit 2019 to be held on September 17-18, 2019 at the Engineer Research and Development Center in Vicksburg, MS.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers delivers vital engineering solutions, in collaboration with our partners, to secure our Nation, energize our economy, and reduce risk from disasters. As one of the most diverse engineering organizations in the world, USACE executes work to support civil and military engineering, geospatial sciences, water resources, and environmental sciences for the Army, Department of Defense, civilian agencies, and our Nation's public good. USACE has approximately 37,000 dedicated civilians and soldiers delivering engineering services to customers in more than 130 countries worldwide, with an annual budget in the tens of billions of dollars.
The 2019 USACE Innovation Summit will promote and share technical ideas, practices, methods and materiel solutions that advance USACE's ability to Revolutionize the Corps by delivering its programs faster, better and cheaper than ever before, and to advance the Army's ability to achieve its Modernization Priorities. Through this event, we hope to establish new relationships between government, industry and academia, as well as build upon existing relationships as we identify new challenges and potential new solutions in the Corps' six primary mission areas: Military Missions, Civil Works, Contingency Operations, International and Interagency, Geospatial Support, and Research and Development.
